Wonderful writing

We are learning to use adjectives in our stories to make them interesting.

We are learning to identify basic shapes and make a picture with them.

I am learning to sound out 3 letter words and blend the sounds together to read the word.

We are learning to use water and a paint brush to blend our watercolour pastels.  

Youth Town fun

We are learning ball skills with our coaches from Youth Town. We are also learning to play together and take turns.

Dinosaur story

Adelina you are able to write more than two sentences by yourself.  

"I can find the words myself." said Adelina

Numbers to 20

Adelina, you are able to name the numbers to 20 and you are working on counting on from a number.

" I can say all my numbers to 20" said Adelina

Rhyming string

We used our rhyming words to make a fat cat with all the rhyming words we could think of.

"We can use our phonic at story writing and reading time to help us make the word right."said Adelina

Mathematics

I am learning to count on from 5.  I know to keep 5 in my head and count on from there.

"I can count the dots and the hand and write 5." said Adelina

I am learning to use the illustrations to help me with new words.

I am learning to use the pictures in the story to give me clues.  I can also get my mouth ready with the first sound.

"I can make the first sound and the last sound to help me read the word.  I look at the pictures to get clues."said Adelina

I am learning to illustrate a story that I have written from my story writing book.

I am learning to draw a self portrait

We first sketched what we thought we looked like into our sketchbooks.  Mrs Scott showed us how to sketch all our features.  We used watercolour paints for our artwork.

Reading

I am learning to point to the words so I do not miss any out.  I also use the pictures to give me a clue about the story.

Swimming

You are learning to get ready for swimming independently.

You are gaining confidence in the water.

Writing

Look at your story at the beginning of the year and look at how many more things you can do now. Keep trying!
