Persuasive Writing

I was learning to write a persuasive piece of writing. I can agree or disagree with a topic. I can provide reasons why I agree or disagree with a topic. It was tricky because I found it hard to come up with lots of reasons.

Making Connections

I was learning to make connections in a text.I can compare a character to what they were like before big changes happened to them and what they are like now. It was easy because the book described storm and his actions very well.

Months Of The Year

I was learning to name and order the months of the year.It was easy because I knew the months of the year.

Narrative

I was learning to write a narrative piece of writing. I can describe the setting. I can describe the characters. It was easy because I made a plan for my writing first.

Summarise Information

I was learning to summarise information. I can find the main ideas in the text. I can identify tthe key ideas in the text. I can use the keywords and main idea to summarise information. It was tricky because I needed lots of help from the teacher.

Skip Counting

I was learning to skip count to solve multiplication problems.I can skip count in 25 55 and 10's.It was easy because the clues helped me to find the missing numbers and solve the equations.

Geometry

I was learning to identify 2D shapes. I can match the name of the shape to the picture of the shape. It was easy because I know my 2D shapes well.

Language Features

I was learning about different language features. I can expand some contractions and I can find the root words for words. It was tricky because I had not done this before so it was new to me.

I was learning to understand what imperative verbs are.I can match the verb to its action.It was tricky because I did not know what some of the words meant

Showing My Understanding

I was learning to show my understanding of what I was reading. I know how to answer questions about the text. It was easy because I understood what the book was about.

Adding Up To 20

I was learning to solve addition problems by counting all materials. I can join sets together and count up all the objects in the sets together.  It was easy to solve these addition problems because I was able to to add up all the balloons to get the answer.

I was learning to make and follow a plan. I know how to plan for my writing. It was easy to plan for my writing because my story was all about me and my likes and dislikes.
